Measure of the behavior of demand in response to changes in price. The ratio of the percentage change in quantity to the percentage change in price. Demand is inelastic if the percentage change in quantity is less than the percentage change in price (elasticity less than one). Demand is elastic if the percentage change in quantity is greater than the percentage change in price (elasticity greater than one).
